POLL: Should a person get half of the money after a divorce?

So my brother and I was talking about celebrity marriages and why they fail and he was telling me when Mel Gibson got a divorce from his wife of 28 years, she took half of his money. And I thought that was insane but he told me she deserved it. He said for one, they had 7 kids and she was with him before he became this mega star. So my question is, if a couple goes through a divorce should the money be split 50/50? in this case do you think Mel Gibson's wife deserved half of the money? I still think no because it's his money that he worked for.
