Why do young males wear their pants pulled down?

Some 'fashion'?thing. ? What's the idea behind wearing one's pants pulled down so far as to bare ones backside or undies(sometimes dirtied) to all? Have young people have no self respect these days? Girls, Does this turn you on, or do you just have a laugh to yourself when you see a guy's bum?
